What is a recovery email?
A ‘recovery email’ is used as a back-up/secondary email in the case that a secondary email may be needed to contact the user.
For example, the primary email included in a learner’s profile may no longer be valid or is unable to receive emails from us (possibly due to security settings, etc), and in such a case, a recovery email is useful where if the learner forgets their password, they can have the ‘reset password’ email sent over to the recovery email address instead and avoid becoming ‘stranded - have no way to retrieve their password and unable to access their account’.
If you’d like to enter a recovery email address or change it, go to your ‘profile’ and click the ‘ACCOUNT’ tab.
Next, go to the bottom of the page and click ‘Set Recovery Email’ to input an email address. Follow the instructions to successfully input/update the recovery email.
